Beyond Our Control returns for its 12th season at 6 p.m. EST today on Channel 16.

The "channel switch"format used by the company for the last four years will be used again this year. The effect given is one of idle switchting between channels - catching shows already in progress, tuning in to out-of-context movie clips, and an occasional pitch of some totally useless product.

Beyond our Control is part of the local Achievement program. The JA company was formed in 1960 by Wm. Thomas Hamilton, executive vice president and general manager of the WNDU Stations, and turned to the production of Beyond Our Control in 1967.

The show was created and produced from its inception by Dave Williams, promotion manager for WNDU, until his death in August of 1977.

The company of 29 area high school students write, film, stage direct, produce. and perform the weekly, half-hour program.
